A Barishal court sentenced accused Sohag Bepari to 10 years imprisonment for possessing illegal fire arms.
Al Amin Matubbar, judge of the special tribunal-5 at Barishal, on Tuesday evening handed down this verdict in presence of the sentenced accused after examining seven witnesses and other evidences. After declaring the verdict the sentenced accused was sent to Barishal central jail. Court sources said Sohag Bepari was arrested by police of Babuganj police station with a locally made pipe-gun carried in a bag of cement on May 17, 2017.
Sub Inspector Md. Hanif, as complainant lodged a case against Sohag under arms act on the same night with Babuganj police station.
Sub Inspector Abdus Salam, investigating the case filed charge sheet against the accused Sohag at Barishal court on 19th June of the same year.
