Police arrested an activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in connection with the organisation’s infighting at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) from Jugipara village in the city on Friday night.
The arrested was identified as Sohel Ahmed alias Rubel, 26, son of late Nazir Mia, a resident of the area.
Jakir, sub-inspector of Jalalabad Police Station, said watching the video footage of the incident, a team of police conducted a raid at the village and arrested Sohel on Friday night.
On November 20, Sumon Das, 22, an activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), was killed and 20 others were injured in a factional clash of the ruling party’s student wing over establishing supremacy on the SUST campus.
