A man was killed in a clash over land related dispute at Char Chowka village of Sreepur upazila on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Babul Sheikh, 45, son of Abdul KaderSheikh, a resident of the village.
Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Sreepur Police Station, said there had been a longstanding dispute between Babul and his paternal cousin Abdur Rahim over a piece of land.
As a sequel to the dispute, they locked into an altercation around 9am on Monday. At one stage, Rahim hit Babul with a sharp weapon which left him dead on the spot.
