One killed in clash over land dispute in Dinajpur

A man was killed and three member of a family were injured in a clash over land dispute in Nawabganj Upazila under Dinajpur on Sunday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Hye, 50, son of Nazir Uddin of Zamira village under Nawabganj upazila of Dinajpur.
His three borthers Asharul Islam, Abul Kalam and Saidur Rahman, were injured badly and now being treated at Nawabganj Upazila Health Complex.
Locals said there was a land dispute between Ashraful Islam and Abdur Razzak over one acre land at Zamira village.
A case was filed over the land is pending with court in Dinajpur.
Tension has mounted among rivals as the hired labours and goons equipped with wooden sticks belong to Abdur Razzak started sowing paddy saplings on Sunday morning. As Ashraful Islam and his brothers tried to prevent the hired labours and goons in sowing the paddy saplings, the hired goons mercilessly beat them up. They were 50 in numbers, alleged Md. Abdul Mannan elder brother of the deceased Abdul Hye.
Later locals of the area rescued them and rushed to Nawabganj upazila Health Complex.
But the doctors referred Abdul Hye to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital (DjMCH) as his condition was worsening. At around 4.00pm Sunday he succumbed to his injuries on the way of Dinajpur Medical College Hospital [RMCH], said his family members.
Police sent the body to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
A murder case was filed with Nawabganj upazila Police stationon Sunday afternoon, said Ismail Hossain, the officer in charge (OC) of the police station.
