Unidentified miscreants killed a 60 years old man at Subarnachar upazila in Noakhali district on Sunday night by cutting tendons of his two hands and slaughtering by the throat.
The deceased has been identified as Mafizur Rahman, President of Communist Party Bangladesh, Noakhali Sadar upazila unit. He was also district official of Progati Life Insurance
The Char Jabbar Thana Police recovered Mafizur Rahman’s body from a paddy field at about 12 midnight on Sunday. Mafizur was the inhabitant of Faraji village under Hatiya upazila in Noakhali district.
A case was filed with the Subarnachar Police Station in this connection.
Monowara Begum, wife of the deceased, said that Mafizur went out of house on the Sunday evening. He talked with the family members at 9pm in the night for the last time in cell phone. But after that his phone was found switched off.
Police on Monday informed the sad news to former General Secretary of Communist Party Bangladesh, Noakhali district unit, Advocate Mollah Habibur Russell Mamun, who contacted with the family members of Mafizur, sources said.
The family members of Mafizur have demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment to the killers. The district Communist Party leaders Mazibur Rahman and Jafar Ullah, condemned the killing and demanded justice.
