Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested an alleged female drug trader with 500 grams of heroin from a passenger train at Birampur rail station in Dinajpur district on Thursday.
“On a tip off, the elite force searched a passenger train and arrested the woman with the contraband heroin,” said a press release issued here today by Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13 Flight Lieutenant Mahmud Bashir Ahmed. During the operation, the elite force seized the contraband heroin packed in five mini polythene packs and two mobile phone sets from the possession of the detainee.
The arrested woman was identified as Kohinoor Begum, 34, of Phulbari upazila in Dinajpur district.
During primary interrogation, the detainee admitted her involvement in drug trading in connivance with her other cohorts using the train route for a long time.
“After filing a case in this connection, the elite force handed over the arrested woman to Parbatipur railway police station in Dinajpur,” the release said, adding that investigation continues secretly against her absconding cohorts.
