One person was killed and another two received severe bullet injuries when miscreants opened fire storming into Jagorani Sangsad, a local club of youths, at Badda in the city at about 8:30 pm on Sunday.
The dead was identified as Tofazzal Hossain Riyan, 35. He received fatal injuries in the head. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital [DMCH] where the doctors declared him dead. Besides, two bullet-hit victims were admitted to DMCH. Of them, condition of one Monu was stated to be critical.
Police said, the reason behind the gun attack was a long-standing sequel between two local groups over sharing of profit-money that came from a makeshift cattle market established ahead of last Eid-ul Azha.
The both conflicting sides sat in a meeting at about 8:30pm yesterday at Jagorani Sangsad. Suddenly, a group of armed men entered the club and started spraying bullets on them. None was arrested till the time of filing of this report at 10pm yesterday.
