Md. Zakaria Hossain, Additional District and Session Judge of Bagerhat, in a judgment delivered on Wednesday, convicted one Ruhul Hawladar (38) and sentenced him to be hanged till his death on the charge of killing housewife Farida Begum..
The prosecution story, in short, is that Ruhul Hawladar, son of one Ismail Hawladar of village Uttar Tafalbari under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district made a proposal for the marriage of his younger brother with the daughter of Rustam Hawladar of the same village. But the proposal was rejected. As a result and and for prevailing conflict over land properties between him and the father of the daughter Ruhul Hawladar could not take it easily and became furious and he decided to take revenge of it.
With this end in view Ruhul Hawladar entered the dwelling house of Rustam Hawladar on May 2 at 12 am in the year 2012, found his wife Fariada Begum alone and stabbed her to death. After the incident the neighbouring people caught killer Ruhul Hawladar and handed over him to the police.
