Chittagong, UNB: A man died and at least 26 people went missing as a fishing trawler capsized in the Bay of Bengal, on the outskirts of Saint Martin’s Island, early Friday. Port sources said a fishing boat named ‘FB Bandhan’ of Bengal Fisheries Limited with some 29 crew members capsized in the Bay as another trawler hit it around 5.00am while it was going into the deep sea for fishing. On information, Navy patrol ship ‘Samudra Joy’ rushed in and rescued two people and recovered the body of another while the others went missing. The deceased was identified as Lavlu while the two rescued as Sajib Hossain, a junior officer of the trawler, and Nasir, a crew member, said an official of Bengal Fisheries Ltd Mohammad Nasir Uddin. However, two Navy ships–BNS Atandra and BNS Sagor–and a maritime patrol aircraft along with ‘Samudra Joy’ and Coast Guard team members were conducting operation to trace out the missing people, said Lieutenant Commander Khawaja Masum.
