Miscreants chopped to death an old man Sarwar Jahan Mollah, 55, at Haji Bari in Bamondanga village under Moksudpur upazila of the district yesterday morning.
Sarwar Jahan hails from Bamondanga village under Gohala union of Moksudpur upazila. Police and family members said they can’t say who are involved in this brutal killing.
Chairman of Gohala union parishad Shafiqul Islam said a group of miscreants entered his house breaking the door early this morning. Miscreants brutally chopped and injured Sarwar Jahan when he identified them. Miscreant fled away from the spot when inmates raised hue and cry.
After the incident local people admitted him to Rajoir Upazila Health Complex. Later he was transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where his condition deteriorated.
Sarwar Jahan Mollah succumbed to his injury on way to Faridpur Medical College hospital.
Body of Sarwar Jahan sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital morgue for post mortem. Doctors said 8 to 9 marks of injury found on his body and head. A case was filed with Moksudpur Thana in this connection. None was arrested till writing the report.
