A health worker of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) was detained on Monday for realising extra money from guardians of the children for administering vaccine.
Mohammad Morshed Alam, councilor of CCC’s Sholokbohor ward, caught health worker Nazim Uddin red handed from Urban Primary Healthcare Centre at city’s Sholoshahar area following complaints from the guardians.
The councillor found the evidence of realising extra money after checking the register. “Nazim realised Taka 60 to 80 from the guardians against a vaccine though CCC is providing the vaccine for only TK 10”, councilor Mohammad Morshed Alam said. CCC Chief Health Officer Selim Akhter Chowdhury said steps would be taken against Nazim as per CCC Service rules.
