Oman dump Fiji 7-0

Tournament favorite Oman got off to a flying start in the Hockey World League round 2 as they dumped Fiji by 7-0 goals in their opening match of the tournament held on Saturday at Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium.
The winners’ led the first half by 2-0 goals.
Al Shatari put Oman ahead in the 24th minute while Baid Jandal doubled the lead for Oman in the 27th minute. Rajam Bashim scored the third goal for Middle East based team in the 27th minute while Jandal scored his second and fourth goal for Oman in the 30th minute.
Al Shibli Kasim further widened the team’s margin scoring the fifth goal in the 45th minute while Jandal scored his third and sixth for his team in the 46th minute. Ashraf Naseri completed the winners’ tally scoring the seventh goal in the 58th minute.
Oman will play their second group match against Malaysia while Fiji will take on Bangladesh scheduled to be held today (Sunday) at the same venue.
