An old man named Abu Bakkar (60) died in a road accident in Aditmari upazila of Lalmonirhat. He died at Rangpur Combined Military Hospital around 2pm on Saturday (December 28). Earlier on Friday (December 25) night, the accident took place on the Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway in Senpara area of Bhadai union of the upazila. Police and locals said Abu Bakkar was returning home on a motorcycle via Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway after work at night.
On reaching Aditmari Senpara area, he was hit by a trolley and seriously injured. The locals rescued him and admitted him to Aditmari Upazila Health Complex and later to Rangpur Combined Military Hospital. He died at around 2pm on Saturday while undergoing treatment there. Aditmari Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saiful Islam confirmed the incident.
