An old man named Rashid Fakir (65) of village Katabunia under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district was arrested by the police on the charge of sexually torturing a minor girl, student (8) of Class I and daughter of one of his neighbour, according to a delayed report received recently.
It is learnt from Thakur Das Mondol, Officer-in-charge (investigation) of Morrelganj Model PS that on Friday afternoon (at about 5 pm debauched old man called the girl and took her into his bed room where he tried to commit a rape on her forcibly. Then the girl screamed out. On hearing the screaming when her mother and some others rushed to the spot the old debauched fled away and went into hide. In this connection father of the girl lodged a case with Morrelganj PS against the old man under Anti Women and Children Repression Act at Friday night Police raided the place where the old man took shelter and arrested him from there in the early hours (at 3 am) of Saturday.
