Oikya Front reschedules its Sylhet rally for Oct 24

Jatiya Oikya Front leaders said that they would go to Sylhet for offering Fatiha, even in the case of the police’s refusal in giving them permission to hold a grand rally there on October 24.
“We were not given permission to hold a grand rally in Sylhet on October 23. The police said that ruling party’s wing Sechchha Sebak League would hold a rally the same day. In this circumstances, we have applied again for the same programme targetting October 24. If the police do not give us permission, we shall go to Sylhet. There we will offer Fatiha at Hazrat Shah Jalal ® and Hazrat Shah Paran’s ® graves,” said Mostafa Mohsin Montu, Gano Forum General Secretary and central leader of Jatiya Oikya Front after a meeting in the capital on Friday evening.
The meeting was held at Nagorik Oikya Leader Mobarak Hossain’s Dhanmondi residence.
JSD President ASM A Rab on Thursday told the journalists that the leaders would discuss the next course of actions of the front at Friday’s meeting.
Mostafa Mohsin Montu said, the front leaders also will offer Fatiha at General M A G Osmani’s grave at the same time. He said, the Oikya Front has applied for holding a grand rally in Chittagong on October 27.
It also has applied to hold a grand rally in Rajshahi on October 30. The front will exchange views with civil society soon, added Montu.
He said, a liaison committee has been formed with the leaders of the front. Many of the members of the committee have attended the Friday’s meeting.
