National Film Awards 2016: Oggatonama emerges as the best film

The government has announced winners of National Film Awards 2016. The award in 26 categories was notified on the government gazette on Thursday.
Tauquir Ahmed’s Oggatonama has been named as the best film of 2016. The film has been produced by Impress Telefilm. Aynabaji dominated the award as it won eight awards including best director and actor.
Chanchal Chowdhury won the best actor for his outstanding performance in Ayna character in the film Aynabajhi. On the other hand, Nusrat Imrose Tisha and Kushum Sikdar won the best actress award jointly. Tisha was named as best actress for her roles in film Astitwa while Kushum Sikder was named for her role in Shankhachil film.
Ali Raaj and Fazlur Rahman Babu jointly won the best supporting actor awards for their acting respectively in Pure Jay Mon and Meyeti Ekhon Kothay Jabey while Taniya Ahmed won the best supporting actress award for her performance in the film Krishnapakkha.
Shahiduzzaman Selim won the award in the villain category for the film Oggatonama. For the film Tauquir Ahmed won award in best story writer category.
Best screenwriter award was shared by Anam Biswas and Gawsul Alam for the film Aynabaji while the best dialogue award went to Syeda Rubaiyat Hossain for the film Under Construction.
Ghran won best short film award while Janmoshathi won the best documentary award. Anum Rahman Khan won best child actor award for the film Shankhachil.
Seasoned actors Akbar Hossain Pathan Farooque and Farida Aktar Babita have shared lifetime achievement award.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the awards, said information ministry officials adding that the date had not yet been finalized.
