Thakur Das Mondol, Officer-In-Charge (Investigation) and ASI Rasel of Morrelganj PS in Bagerhat were seriously injured by some alleged miscreants at Morrelganj (Sadar) bus stand while they were discharging their official duties on Friday morning (at about 11 am), according to a report received here. The injured officers were admitted to Morrelganj Upazila Health Complex for their treatment.
In this connection two persons were arrested by the police. The arrestees are Hasan Akon (24), son of one Moti Akon of village Purbo Saralia under Morrelganj Upazila and Mahatab Akon (47), son of one Latif Akon of the same village.
OC Thakur Das Mondol who is now undergoing treatment in the Upazila Health Complex told, in the morning while we were discharging our official duties at the bus stand at one stage we stopped a speeding motor cycle and were interrogating the motor cyclist all on a sudden some miscreant attacked ourselves and beat us.
As a result, we were injured and our uniforms were torn.
K M Azizul Islam, Officer-in-charge (Admn) of Morrelganj PS told the newsmen, a case was registered with the PS on the charge of attacking the police officers while they were discharging their official duties. In this connection 2 persons were already arrested from the place of occurrence.
