Afroza Begum, mother of staff reporter of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Dilara Hossain, died at United Hospital in the city around 3.15am on Friday.
She was 64.
Afroza had been suffering from cancer for last couple of months.
Wife of late senior journalist of the BSS Delwar Hossain, Afroza left behind three daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.
Her first namaz-e-janaza was held at Kalshi Journalist Residential Area Jame Mosque at 9am on Friday.
She was buried at Islampur Graveyard in Munshiganj following the second namaz-e-janaza after Jum’a prayers.
