Sumaiya, 12, daughter of the main suspect killer, now undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), told police, “My father killed my aunt and two cousins.”
He also stabbed me in a bid to kill me,” she said.
Sumaiya further said, “My father is a drug addict and he even beat me and my mother on Wednesday. That’s why we came to my aunt’s house on Wednesday night.”
On Wednesday night, Abbas Miah came to his sister-in-laws’ house and slit the throats of the three — his elder sister-in-law and her two daughters — with a knife.
The police later arrested Abbas.
DB Inspector Enamul Haque said that Abbas is now under interrogations. We will inform the details later, he added.
Earlier, the law enforcers on Thursday morning recovered three bodies – mother and her two daughters — with throat slit and another girl suffered injuries allegedly by Abbas Miah at their house in Siddhirganj upazila of Narayanganj.
The incident occurred at a six-storey building in CI Khola area of the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Nasrin, 28, wife of one Sumon Mia, her daughters Nusrat, 6, and Khadija, 2.
Local sources said, Nasrin’s husband Sumon came to the residence around 10:00 in the morning after finishing the night shift duty. After entering the room he could see the three throat slit bodies.
Later, police came to the spot and recovered the bodies.
Md Azizul Haque, Inspector (Investigation) of Siddhirganj Police Station, confirmed the deaths of the trio to media.
