Molla Abdul Jobbar, a former banker, teacher and a veteran social worker of Bagerhat district town breathed his last in a Hospital in Dhaka on Tuesday morning. He was 78. He left behind wife, two sons, one brother, one sister and a host of relatives, friends and admirers to mourn his death. He had been suffering from old age complications for long. Late Molla Abdul Jobbar was an inhabitant of local Alia Madrasa Road. He started his career as banker of Rupali Bank, erstwhile Muslim Commercial Bank, Bagerhat branch in sixties of the last century.
Later he joined the local Adarsha Bidyalaya as an Assistant teacher. He was associated with a number of social organizations including Bagerhat district unit of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and he was its life member till his death.
He was pious, honest, generous, well behaved and amiable in nature in the true sense of the term throughout of his life. His first Namaj-e-Janaja was held in the local Swadhinata Udyan on Sunday morning. He was laid to eternal rest in his family graveyard in the village Nataikhali under Sadar Upazila in the district on the same day.
