Toffazzal Hossain Chunnu Mia, a renowned freedom fighter and Sub -sector Commander of Sector- 11 of Liberation War died of died of cardiac arrest at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on Tuesday morning at the age of 71.
Toffazzal Hossain Chunnu is survived by his wife, five sons, two daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Before the Namaj-e-Janaza, a guard of honour was given to him in Gouripur upazila in Mymensingh and one minute silence was observed .
UNO Dur-e-Shahwaz was present there.
Later Toffazzal Hossain Chunnu ‘s coffin was taken to the Shaheed Minar of Harun Park to allow people from all walks of life to pay last respects to the renowned freedom fighter
Earlier, political leaders, members of Gouripur Muktijuddha Sangsad, his companion freedom fighters spoke highlighting eventful life of late Toffazzal Hossain Chunnu
He was buried at the Muktijudda Graveyard of Gouripur Municipality.
