Veteran freedom fighter (FF) Barendra Kumar Tripura, father of Nabo Bikram Kishore Tripura, Secretary of Ministry of CHT Affairs and Chairman of CHT Development Board, died of old-age complications at his Khagrachhari residence on Wednesday.
He was 96.
Barendra, who was an administrative officer of the south-east command of the Mujibnagar Government, breathed his last around 11.30 in the morning. His cremation was held yesterday.
Barendra left behind two sons, two daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
