Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday said the possibility of using illegal means to grab power can not be ruled out.
“We can’t say that these kinds of attempts are not being made in the country,” he said addressing a programme of Awami Sangskritik Forum at Dhanmondi Road No 32 in the city.
“We often forget our history, tradition and values once we come to power. The golden achievements of Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina will be dimmed if we don’t act accordingly”, the senior Awami League leader said.
He said, the Awami League has got adulterated because of complacency.
“Not only commodities but the party has also got adulterated. We have to remain alert about the hybrid leaders who are making Awami League weak,” he added.
He said, Awami League should not feel complacent and hope to stay in power forever because “BNP couldn’t achieve success in waging a movement against the government.”
