New Zealand Cricket team will arrive in Dhaka on August 24 to play five-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Bangladesh Cricket team. The five T20I matches will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on September 1, 3, 5, 8, 10. All the matches will start at 4.00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Before taking part in the five-match T20I series, New Zealand team was scheduled to play a practice match against the Selected XI of Bangladesh at the BKSP Ground in Savar on August 29. But New Zealand Cricket dismissed the practice match. It has revealed that New Zealand team was not interested to play practice match and they will not take part in practice match. New Zealand Cricket thinks if the Kiwis play the practice match, there is a chance to break the bio-secure bubble environment.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has booked a total hotel for New Zealand team.
Chief Physician of BCB Dr Debashish Chowdhury said, ” We shall arrange the bio-secure bubble environment for New Zealand team like Australia team. We are trying hard to avoid the coronavirus during the tour of New Zealand Cricket team.”
