Nusraat Faria in BBC Asian Network prog

BBC Asian Network will feature popular actress Nusraat Faria in their one year-long programme to commemorate Bangladesh’s 50 years of independence. The programme will highlight 50 young people who have all excelled in their professions and careers. They will talk about how their Bangladeshi cultures keep them rooted while staying abroad. The list consisting of Bangladeshi-British citizen includes Bangladeshi born Nusraat Faria as she had studied Law from the University of London.
While sharing her feelings in this regard Nusraat Faria said, “It’s an honour for me to be part of this event. Most of the young people who are involved with the programme are from UK. I am really glad that my name was added to the list of such young and successful people.”
The programme which started on March 22 showcased host Bobby Friction interviewing rapper and Hip-hop pioneer Anik Khan. Anik talked about his immigration journey and growing up in the Desi community in New York. On March 26, Asian Network Breakfast with Harpz Kaur featured a live music session with Joy Crooke who gave her first-ever live performance in Bengali.
Actress Nusraat Faria, activist Nabela Noor, Brit-Bengali star Nish and content creator SMASHBengali will each curate their own playlist and share their favourite soundtracks. The programme will also feature dancer Akram Khan, comedian Ali Shah Alam, British TV chef and presenter Nadia Hussain and Mumzy Stranger.
