Nuruzzaman urges all to stand beside helpless people

Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed on Saturday called upon the people to stand by the helpless and backward people with love.
“Bangabandhu believed that love matches love…. with our love we have to stand by the helpless, miserable and backward people of the country, we have to bring smile on their faces,” he said.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a programme to mark the National Social Service Day-2021 at the Department of Social Services Auditorium, Agargaon in the city.
The minister said the Prime Minister will inaugurate the distribution of allowances through G2P on January 14. The government will be able to deliver allowances under the social security program to 10 million people with honesty and dedication, he added.
The theme of the day this year is ‘Building a Hunger and Poverty Free Society, Services and Opportunities at the End’.
State Minister for Social Welfare M Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru, Member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Social Welfare Arma Dutta were present as special guests, said a press release.
The function was presided over by Secretary of the ministry Mohammad Zainul Bari while Director General, Department of Social Services Sheikh Rafiqul Islam was also present.
The state minister said, “We have to work together to build the golden Bengal of the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.”
“At present 112 upazilas have come under 100 percent allowance, hopefully soon all the upazilas of the country will come under 100 percent allowance,” he said.
