Nur’s driver held in Comilla

Police arrested the car driver of Nur Hossain, the prime accused in Narayanganj seven-murder case, from a village in Chandina upazila early Wednesday.
The arrestee was identified as Zubayer Hossain, 33.
Tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive at the house of Abdur Razzak, father-in-law of Zubayer, at Belashwar village in the upazila around 3am and arrested Zubayer from the house, said Mohammad Ayub, inspector (investigation) of Chandina Police Station.
Zubayer Hossain took shelter at the house to avoid police arrest after the Narayanganj seven-murder incident on April 27.
”We have informed to Narayanganj DB police about the arrest of Nur Hossain’s driver,” said Golam Murshed, officer-in-charge of Chandina Police Station.
Nur Hossain, a Narayanganj city Awami League leader and also a councilor, was arrested from an apartment in Kolkata on the night of June 14.
On April 27, Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam, his three associates and driver were abducted by miscreants from Fatullah area of Narayanganj. Hours after their abduction, senior lawyer at district Judge’s Court Chandan Kumar Sarker and his driver were also abducted on their way to capital Dhaka.
Three days into their abduction, the bodies of six people, including that of Nazrul and Chandan Kumar, were recovered from the Shitalakhya River on April 30. Besides, the following day, the body of Jahangir, car driver of Nazrul Islam, was recovered from the river.
