Staff Reporter :
Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Vice President Nurul Haque Nur is now feared about his arrest because of early release from the hospital.
Daka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) authorities released VP Nur from the hospital on Tuesday.
After the release, VP Nur told the reporters, “I’m not completely cured now. I have enough pains in my body. That’s why I can’t move anywhere properly. But DMCH authorities hurriedly released me.”
He alleged that he has been released early from the hospital to speed up his arrest in a case filed under the Digital Security Act. According to Nur, everything is happening at the directives of the government. To queries on the attack on him, he said, “Everything is still blurry. Those involved need to be brought to book.”
On December 22, DUCSU VP Nur and at least 30 of his followers were injured in attacks after heated arguments with leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League on the campus.
The members of the ruling Awami League’s students wing, who work under the banner of Muktijuddho Mancha, were reportedly active during the incident in and outside the DUCSU Bhaban.
On December 26, a Dhaka University student DM Sabbir filed a lawsuit against Nur and 28 others for carrying out attacks with sticks and lethal weapons, leaving eight people injured including Muktijuddho Manch President Aminul Islam.
