Noted journalist and a literary person Syed Najat Hossain died on December 7 at Farabi General Hospital in Dhaka.
He was 59 . Journalists of Chapainawabganj mourned his death .
Family sources said , Syed Najat Hossain was affected with liver cirrhosis at the beginning of September last.
He at first took treatment in Dhaka and later he was admitted to the Peerless Hospital in Calcutta in India on October 28.
After getting treatment there he returned to the country. As he became ill again, he was admitted to Farabi General Hospital in Dhaka on December 7 and he died there at 2-05 pm.
He left wife, four sons and innumerable well wishers to mourn his death. During his working days, he was the editor of Weekly Nawabganj Barta and Daily Nabab. He was also the district correspondent of Channel I and Manchranga TV.
His only sister is noted singer Dilruba Khan .
Although Najat Hoosain by birth was a native of Kanupur village under Akkelpur upazila in Joypurhat district, he came to Chapainawabganj in 1988 and started journalism with his own published weekly and daily.
He was awarded M Nurul Kader Child Literature Prize on October 9 last for his publication short poem book ‘Hat Jhumjhum Pa jhum.’
He was buried at Fakirpara graveyard in Chapainawabganj town.
At his death, President of Chapainawabganj Press Club Golam Mostofa Montu, Secretary of the same and Editor of Daily Chapai Chitra Kamal Uddin, President of Chapainawabganj District Press Club and Editor of Daily Chapai Dristi Imran Faruk Masum, secretary of the same and editor of Weekly Sonamasjid Zonab Ali, Editor of Daily Gour Bangla Hasib Hossain, President of tChapainawabganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abdul Wahed, Station Manager of Radio Mohananda Aleya Ferdous, President of Gomostapur Upazila Press Club Atiqul Islam Azam and Secretary Asadullah Ahmad mourned his death .
