Not in speech, slogans but believe in activities: Nowfel

Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel emphasised the activities rather on speech-slogans for resolving problems in education sector. He disclosed it while addressing in a Roundtable meet on Chattogram Education as arranged by the pioneer Bengali daily of the port city – Dainik Azadi on Saturday.
Barrister Nowfel said the education has achieved tremendous development under the dynamic leadership of Prtme Minister Sheikh Hasina but we have some limitations and problems. He said I won’t want to end my responsibility through delivering speech before the media persons only rather these prevailing problems may be resolved through works.
He said the politicians like us are constraint in speech and slogans but this problems need to be resolved with policy making discussions in practical. He praised the Dainik Azadi for arranging a policy making discussion meet . Nowfel said greater Chattogram legs behind in education sector and govt is trying to change the situation . He also told that huge infrastructural development is carried out in greater Chattogram through increasing investment and govt funds.
The infrastructure of the educational institutions are being changed after constructing multistoried building but the concerned persons liable for management of the school and colleges should change their mentality to sustain quality of education. Deputy Minister further said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is giving highest priorities in education sector than any other sector but teachers, guardians, school managing committee should devote themselves for fruitful results in institutions.
 Nowfel further mentioned about the allegations against quality of education in last 10 years but it is not true at all. The main aim of education is to create skilled human resources which not in cent percent success in present situation but we are trying our level best to achieve the goal.
He said the percentage of technical education was 1% earlier which now attained in 14% . Present govt is giving importance for building Technical Institute in upazila levels and such TI are being constructed in 110 upazilas of the country.
 He also stressed the need of constructing educational institution in Hill based areas with the concept of Darjilling on India.
 He also mentioned about non-existence of any public university in south Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar district and the Prime Minisster will be apprised formally about it. Managing Editor of Dainik Azadi Wahid Malik delivered address of welcome in the roundtable. Among others Chairman of Chattogram Education Board Prof. Shaheda Islam, Director of Secondary Higher Education Directorate, Chattogram region Prof. Prodip chakraborty, Chief education officer of CCC Sumon Barua, Deputy Director of MHED Azizuddin, District Education Officer Md. Jashimuddin, Executive Engineer of Education Engin eering Department Md Jalaluddin, teacher leader Abu Taher, Anchal Chowdhury participated the discussions moderated by Journalist Ratan Barua.
