Believe it or not! Not far away from the capital city, a risky bamboo bridge
(shako) stands between Nalchhata
and Balurpar points under Demra
and Khilgaon Police Stations
through which thousands of
people, including school
children and women, passes every
day risking their lives.
As it is the only communication
link over the river dividing the two
police stations, people are
forced to use it for their
every day travel to Dhaka
and for earning livelihood.
People of the locality have been
demanding immediate construction of a bridge over the river but their
cries never reach the ear of
the concerned quarter.
