North Zone, South Zone tie end in a draw as Liton hits ton in BCL

North Zone wicket keeper batsman Liton Das’s responsible unbeaten century helped the North Zone and South Zone of Bangladesh Cricket League end in a draw at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium inChattogram on Monday.
The right handed batsman Liton scored 103 off 168 balls laced with nine boundaries and two over boundaries. It also involved two important partnerships – first 125 with Junaid Siddique (61) for the third wicket stand and then 79 runs with his skipper Naeem Islam (43) for the fourth wicket stand to take the team to a comfortable position after the early loss of their two openers.
North Zone finally scored their second innings at 278 for 4 on the fourth and final day after they resumed their second innings with overnight score of 22 for no loss to chase the winning target of 454 set by South Zone.
Left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak finished his spells with 2 for 6 runs.
Earlier, North were dismissed in their first innings at 207 in reply to South Zone’s first innings total of 262. South Zone declared their second innings at 398 courtesy of three centuries by Shahriar Nafees (111), Shamsur Rahman (109) and Mahmudullah (100 n.o).
