North Zone crush South Zone in BCL

BCB North Zone made a good start in the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) one-day format, whacking BCB South Zone past by eight wickets on Sunday at the Sylhet Cricket Academy. Put into bat first, South Zone were bowled out for 162 in 42.4 overs. Towhid Hridoy was the top-scorer for the side with 55 off 77, hitting three fours while opener Pinak Ghosh made 47 off 76, sending the ball across the ropes for six times. Shafiqul Islam and Sunzamul Islam took three wickets each for North Zone. Naeem Islam, however, hastened North Zone’s victory with an unbeaten 66 off 84 that included nine fours. He was ably supported by opener Parvez Hossain Emon’s run-a-ball-54, in which he blasted five fours and four sixes.
