UNB, Jessore :A councillor of Noapara municipality in Jessore was gunned down by miscreants at Guakhola village in Abhaynagar upazila on Sunday morning.The deceased identified as Oliar Rahman,50, son of Gafur Molla, a resident of the same village, was also joint general secretary of the Abhaynagar upazila unit of Awami League. Quoting locals, police said Oliar came under attack by a group of miscreants on his way back home after saying Fazr prayers at a local mosque at about 7:30 am.The attackers fired two shots at him near his residence in the area, leaving him injured.Oliar died on way to Khulna Medical College Hospital. Chhoyer Uddin, officer-in-charge of Abhaynagar Police Station, confirmed the incident.
