Returning Officer and Zonal Election Officer Md. Abdul Baten said , any types of showdown by the aspirants of the upcoming city corporation polls in Chittagong on the occasion of Pahela Boishak will not be allowed .
He said Pahela Boishaka will be observed nationally as a tradition of Bangalee but this time this will be observed with cautiously as not to violate the norms of the election code of conduct.
He disclosed it while addressing the candidates at the time allocating the election symbol at Muslim Institute hall on Friday . He said we are here to conduct the fair and free election which is my consititutional duty and if fail to perform this responsibility properly, I will leave the post after resign from EC.
