No security threat ahead of city polls: DMP

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Muhammad Shafiqul Islam on Thursday said that police still could not get any information of security threat ahead of the polls of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) to be held tomorrow.
The peaceful elections atmosphere is still prevails across the capital except some isolated incidents among the campaigners.  
The DMP Commissioner made the announcement
while replying reporters in a query after inspecting the security system of the Ekushey Book Fair at Suhrawardy Udyan on Thursday afternoon.
 “We will conduct raids based on the information in different areas if needed to maintain the peaceful situation,” he said.
We are ready to ensure the safety and security of the people, the DMP Chief continued.
