State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Ministry Narayan Chandra Chanda said the country would not face scarcity of cattle during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, even if the country did not import any animal.
He made the remark while visiting a private diary farm at Chakpustum village under Gomostapur upazila in Chapainawabganj district on Thursday afternoon.
“Bangladesh is becoming self reliant in protein, as the government is working for the development of livestock sector,” the state minister said, adding that the dream of establishing Sonar Bangla of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is getting its shape by the dynamic leadership of his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He informed that a research institute has been made in this region for the development of animal resources.
He also assured dairy owners of providing sufficient bank loans to inspire livestock farming.
