No plan to deploy army-led joint forces: Asad

Staff Reporter :The government has no plan to deploy army-led joint forces during the BNP-led 20-party alliance ongoing blockade.The government also thought that the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and police are enough for tackling the situation. State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal made the remarks in response to a query on army deployment while talking to reporters at his office at the secretariat on Sunday afternoon.No such situation has been created in the country, which requires for the deployment of the joint forces, the minister opined. The government has enabled to ensure the necessary security of the people across the country, the minister opined. The people of the country have raised their voices against the blockade and they also started to hand over the picketers after detaining from various spots, the minister said.  He however hopes countrywide badly violence situation during the blockade will be overcome within few days, he said. At least 24 people were killed and scores injured across the country since the beginning of the blockade on January 5, sources said.
