BSS, Dhaka :
Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said there will be no place for militancy and terrorism on the sacred soil of Bangladesh.
“Islam never ever supports militancy. The government along with the people will eliminate terrorism and militancy from the country once and for all,” he said.
Hanif said this on Thursday while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar on “Call of Islam for resisting terrorism and militancy” organised by Islamic Foundation at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram in the city.
Minister for Religious Affairs Principal Motiur Rahman chaired the seminar, also addressed, among others, by acting secretary of religious affairs ministry Md Abdul Jalil, Awami League (AL) religious affairs secretary Advocate Sheikh Md Abdullah, Islami Oikya Jote chairman Misbahur Rahman Chowdhury, AL Central Working Committee member Aminul Islam Amin, AL Advisory Council member Shaikh Allama Khondokar Golam Moula Nakshebandi and Islamic Foundation chairman Shameem Md Afzal.
Hanif said, “The Jew-Nasara clique has created IS (Islamic State) to destroy the Muslims by the Muslims.
They have been conspiring to brand Islam, the religion of peace, as a religion of terrorists. They have also been blackening the best religion now. A Muslim can never be a terrorist. It’s a sacred religious duty of every Muslim to resist terrorist and militant activities.”
Terming Islam as a religion of peace, humanity and service, he said there is no place for terrorism and militancy in Islam, which never supports killings and terrorist activities.
Hanif said, “The IS has destroyed Iraq and Syria. The IS killed people in different countries in the name of establishing the Islamic State.
The members of IS are no real Muslims as Israel and the intelligence agency of the United States financed for creation of IS. They have been misleading people to join their party.”
Principal Motiur Rahman said, “The people of the country have rejected with hatred all sorts of attempts to hamper peace, discipline and creation of anarchy.
They will resist terrorism and militancy this time too.
” Later, Pesh Imam of Baitul Mukarram national mosque Moulana Ehsanul Haque offered munajat and conducted a doa mahfil. Over 5000 Alem-Ulemas and Khatibs-Imams of the city attended the function.
