UNB, Dhaka :
There is no need for the registration of names of jobseekers exclusively for Saudi Arabia as there has been no government decision as such, said Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain on Tuesday.
“The registration of names of jobseekers before going to any foreign country, including Saudi Arabia, is a routine work of the government. So, there’s nothing to be worried about it,” he told a press briefing arranged to dispel the confusion about it.
The minister said, it is only the online registration process which is inoperative for the time being.
Referring to the recent agreement signed in Dhaka with a Saudi government delegation over sending Bangladeshi workers under 12 categories, the minister said, “Of them, now only housemaids will be sent who will draw a minimum salary of 800 Saudi Riyal per month with food, lodging, treatment facility and free airfare as per the agreement.”
Mosharraf said, they will also enjoy a one-day leave every week and be eligible to use cellphone to make contact anywhere, including the Bangladesh mission there to lodge complaint, if any.
