Law Minister Anisul Huq on Saturday said there is no IS in Bangladesh, but the ghost of Jamaat is there. “There’s no IS in Bangladesh but the phantasm of Jamaat is there. They’ve carried out the attack on Holey Artisan Bakery at Gulshan to destabilise the country,” he said.
The minister was addressing an orientation programme of Legal Assistants’ Association at the Supreme Court Bar Council. “There’ll be no consensus with the party or people who’re linked to militants,” he added.
Anisul Huq urged lawyers not to submit any petition before court for any militant.
Presided over by Legal Assistants’ Association president Mohammad Nur Miah, the programme was attended by Supreme Court Bar Council president adv Yusuf Hossain Humayan and its former general secretary Nurul Islam Sujon.
