The High Court on Wednesday ordered the educational institutions not to charge any additional fee fromthe candidates of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations.
A bench of Justice Kazi Rezaul Haque and Justice Mohammad Ullah passed
the order after concluding the hearing of a rule in this regard.
The court also directed that the authorities will have to refund the money to the students within 30 days if any institution collected extra fees from the examinees.
The managing committee and governing body of the institution that will fail to refund the money it collected will have to be suspended, the court order said.
Legal steps will be taken against such institution if any student fails to sit for the examination only due to his or her inability to pay the fees, the court order added.
