Chittagong City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said city corporation won’t believe repressions on poors by imposing taxes but the affluent section should come under tax net to assist the development activities of the govt.
He said no business in the port city will be allowed sans trade licence. He disclosed it while addressing the coordination meeting of the license inspectors and tax collectors of CCC on Sunday afternoon at Theatre Institute Hall in city.
City Mayor said administrative expenses and development works of the corporation depends on collection of trade license fees, holding taxes etc.
He said cent percent civic services depends on taxes of the city dwellers.
He called upon the license inspectors to discharge their responsibilities for issue of TL in a proper way and asked the revenue officials to complete the holding assessment in due time.
Acting chief Executive Officer Md, Abul Hossain presided over the meeting duly addressed by chief revenue office Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, personal secretary to Mayor Manzurul Islam.
