Chattogram City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said, there is no alternative of VAT receipts for advancing the ongoing development activities of the country.
He disclosed it while addressing the seminar on National VAT Day programmes held at World Trade Centre Hall in the Port City as Chief Guest recently .
Mayor said all are eager to pay VAT and we all should change our mentality in favour of VAT payment . He also said govt won’t deal business, trade and so the business personalities should to pay proper VAT for the better interest of the country. He further said govt is providing largest quantities of text books free of costs, implementing big projects where citizens are being benefitted . Member of NBR Margub Ahmed was present in it as special guest. VAT Commissioner Md. Enamul Hoque presided the seminar. Among others Tax Commissioner Iqbal Hossain, Abul Kalam, Muntasir Billah, Bond Commissioner Mahbubuzaman, Chairman of CWCCI Abida Mostafa spoke on the occasion.
Additional commissioner of Customs House Kazi Md. Ziauddin and the Deputy commissioner of Bond Commissioner Tahmina Akhter conducted the seminar. In observance of the VAT Day, a colourful rally was brought out from CGO building premises which paraded the Agrabad business hub in the morning.
