No alternative to Metro Rail to face increasing population in Port City

 The present population of the port city Chattogram will increase by more 15 lakh very shortly following the implementation of Bangabandhu Silpanagar at Mirsarai and Anowara Economic Zone and there is no alternatives of Metro Rail (MRT) .
In the new masterplan of Chattogram Development Authority , the areas of installing metro rail track to be identified , City Mayor disclosed it in the coordination meeting relates to CDA Expressway and CCC Metro Rail at CCC conference room today (Saturday) . City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin said for the better interest of the city dwellers, we want sustainable development for which Metro Rail is essential.
He said this subject of MRT is in preliminary stage which will be included in the next master plan of CDA. In the coordination meeting, Project Director CDA Mahfuzur RAhman said four lane elevated expressway is being constructed from Tigerpass to Airport . He said the elevated expressway will pass over the Dewanhat overbridge . He further said there will be no expressway from Barik building crossing to Saltgola circle and 30 feet lands beside north side of the road will be acquisitioned as per govt rules. Chief Executive officer of CCC Md. Shamsudoha , CDA chief engineer Kazi Hasan, Chief Enginer of CCC Lt Col. Mohiuddin Ahmed, Acting Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam , CDA Expressway Designer Nur Sadek were present in the meeting.
