No achievement in PM’s UAE tour: BNP

UNB, Dhaka :BNP on Tuesday claimed that there has been no tangible success in Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s much-hyped tour of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as she has failed to sign any deal with the Gulf nation on manpower export from Bangladesh.”Our Prime Minister has made a much-hyped visit to the UAE. What’s the outcome of it? The result is that the UAE will continue hiring female domestic helps from Bangladesh as it does always, that’s it,” said BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.He further said, “But, no agreement was signed on hiring manpower from Bangladesh. That means the Prime Minister’s UAE tour has failed.”The BNP leader came up with the remarks while addressing a discussion, titled ‘October 28 Tragedy, 2006: Resist Awami medieval acts’ arranged by Jatiya Ganotantrik Party (Jagpa) at the Jatiya Press Club.Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home on Monday midnight wrapping up her three-day official tour of the UAE.During the tour, Bangladesh and the UAE signed three deals, including an ‘Agreement on Security Cooperation’ between the two countries, aiming to enhance cooperation on containing crimes.
