BSS, Chittagong :
National Legal Aid Services Organisation (NLASO) disposed of a total of 257 cases in 2013 and 114 in last five months in Chittagong.
NLASO working for providing legal services to the impoverished and helpless litigants free of cost also disposed of a total of about 24 thousand similar cases across the country in last five years.
Senior Assistant Judge of the NLASO, Chittagong Mujahidur Rahman said the NLASO disposed of 106 criminal, five family and three civil cases in last five months till May 31.
Besides, the organisation also provided legal assistance in 149 criminal, 26 family and eight civil cases during the same period, he added.
Besides, the organization also provided legal assistance to 241 female and 556 male in 701 criminal, 19 civil and 77 family cases in Chittagong in 2013.
NLASO sources said at present 1,687 criminal, 86 civil and 233 family cases are now under disposal in Chittagong.
