Corona infection is increasing at an alarming rate in Nilphamari district. In the last 72 hours, 58 people in six upazilas of the district have become affected by corona. This is the highest detection of corona in Nilphamari since coronavirus case was found in the district.
Dr. Jahangir Kabir, Civil Surgeon, confirmed the matter on Friday, (25 June, 2021) at noon. 35 people died. 1 thousand 573 people have recovered. So far 12 thousand 643 samples have been tested.
He added that the infection rate in the district was 10.83 last May. As of June 21, the infection rate had risen to 18.01. In three days, the detection rate increased by 25 percent. This is the highest identification in the district.
According to health department sources, in the last 72 hours, 15 corona patients have been identified in the district headquarters, 12 in Domar, 5 in Dimla, 6 in Jaldhaka, 4 in Kishoriganj and 14 in Saidpur. 5 people have recovered. 115 people are under treatment. Of these, 14 are in Sadar Hospital, 1 in SaidpurUpazila Hospital and 102 in Home Isolation. Twelve people have been referred to Corona Dedicated Hospital in 24 hours.
Meanwhile, despite the increase in corona infection, people in the district are moving normally. There is no way to control them. Most people are walking without masks. The tea shops of the small hat bazaars of the village have set up chat rooms and storytelling halls.
Besides maintaining social distance, Nilphamari district administration and Nilphamari police administration are trying to make people wearing masks compulsory. The executive magistrates of the deputy commissioner’s office are imposing fines in a mobile court. Meanwhile, NilphamariConscious quarters has demanded a lockdown in the district.
Deputy Commissioner HafizurRahmanChowdhury said all UP chairmen and people’s representatives of the district have been instructed to make wearing of mask compulsory in their respective areas. We will be able to deal with Corona only if all the common people of the district are more careful and aware.
