Niloy’s hat-trick powered Bangladesh to become the champions of the FIH World Hockey League Round-1 defeating Hong Kong by 3-1 goals in their second match at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Sunday.
Earlier, Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka in their first match by 3-2 goals on September 5 at the same venue.
Bangladesh had a 1-0 lead in the first session.
Niloy of Bangladesh put his team ahead capitalizing a pass of his teammate Mimo in the 27th minute of the first half.
After the interval Mimo struck a penalty corner and his teammate Sarwar stopped it and Chayan hot the ball but the Hong Kong goalie returned it and Niloy did not do any mistake to hit the ball into the goal post in the 45th minute of the play.
In the 51st minute of the match, Hong Kong were awarded a penalty stroke and Chan Ka Ho reduced the margin by a penalty stroke.
Niloy put the last nail on the Hong Kong’s coffin and fulfilled his hat-trick in the 54th minute of the clash.
Rabbi, Chayan, Khorshed, Mimo came close to score in the 15th, 38th, 40th, 51st minutes respectively.
Priyalanka of Sri Lanka was adjudged the Best Player of the Tournament while Khan Fahim of Hang Kong was adjudged the Best Junior Player of the Tournament.
Hasan Jubaer Niloy of Bangladesh was the highest scorer of the meet with four goals including a hat-trick.
Ashim Gope of Bangladesh was adjudged the Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament.
After the match Minister for Finance Abul Maal Abdul Muhuth, State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, President of Bangladesh Hockey Federation and Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari, General Secretary of Bangladesh Hockey Federation Khaja Rahmatullah, Joint Secretaries of the Federation Anvir Adil Khan, Yousuf Ali were present at the prize-giving ceremony.
Besides, Representative of FIH and Member of European Hockey Federation David Balbirni was also present at the time.
