A night guard was murdered allegedly by some miscreants at Tikria- Choumohoni area under Srimangal upazila of the district early hours today.
The deceased was identified as Abdus Sahid, 45, of Ghoraichar village of the same upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Srimangal thana Abdul Jalil said the miscreants chopped Sahid with sharp weapons and injured him critically.
Sahid died on the way to Sylhet MAG Osmani hospital.
